Scanner Components 2D

Scanner components

For a 2D scanner, the additional components are:

  1. The arm. The probe can be moved along this arm
  2. The second encoder. Encodes the second axis
  3. The motor and pulley. Usually, a small electric motor with a pulley system moves the probe along the second axis
  4. Primary motor. Moves the entire scanner in the scanning direction

This type of scanner is mostly used for corrosion mapping and lamination detection.
