Pulser/Receivers

Pulser/Receivers

The pulser/receivers serve two functions. The first one is to shape and emit a square wave to the probe. The second is to receive the analog signal returning from the probe.

  1. Power is sent to the pulser/receivers which emit controlled square waves. The voltage controls the power sent to the pulser/receivers
  2. The pulser/receivers are placed in listening mode for a period of time corresponding to the range needing to be inspected

The number of Pulser/receivers in an instrument  can vary from 16 to more than a 1000 in medical instruments.
